Tense situation reporting in front of UNP headquarters

Violent clashes erupted outside the UNP headquarters in Sirikotha at Pitakotte following a protest staged by government supporters.

The road opposite Sirikotha was closed as the protesters clashed with poles and stones injuring several people and damaging property. Police reinforcements were later sent to the location to bring the situation under control.
