Highest number of election violations reports in SL

Election Monitoring Organization PAFFREL announced comparing with past elections number of election violations increased by two fold.

Executive Director of PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchie says since the announcements of presidential election 46 individuals are receiving treatment at the hospital. 535 Election violations including 154 major violence and 29 personal attacks, 9 firing incidents and 30 incidents reported on causing damages to personal properties. During the time of election period 32 election offices were attacked. Highest number of election violations reported in the Kurunegala, Puttalam, Kandy,Kalutara and Galle districts. PAFFREL director further noted comparing with previous years highest numbers of state properties were used for election conversing activities, Rohana Hettiyarachchie alleged.
