Northern Provincial Council member Thurairasa Ravikaran has been summoned for questioning by Sri Lanka's Terrorist Investigation Division (TID), reports the Uthayan.
The NPC member was sent a warrant from the Mullaitivu police on Wednesday, requiring him to report to the TID's Kilinochchi branch on the 18th of February at 10am. No reason was given for the summoning.
Earlier this month an attempt was made by the TID to search the councillor’s house, claiming that he was storing military equipment.
The move follows the Northern Provincial Council passing a resolution this week, calling on the United Nations to investigate the genocide of the Tamil people by the Sri Lankan government.
