The UN Human Rights Commissioner Prince Al-Hussein during the Geneva Human Rights Council session of meetings has said that the UN Human Rights Reports on Sri Lanka’s war crimes will be submitted, since the newly formed government in Sri Lanka has requested for the submission of report in the month of September, it has been postponed from submitting in the month of March to September. As per the request of the Sri Lankan Government the U.N. Human Rights Commission also accepted to submit the same in the month of September. But many Non-Governmental Organizations as well as Human Rights Organizations are opposing the postponement of the reports by conducting very many protest demonstrations against the postponement of the said report in the month of September, which was already due in the month of March itself. The U.N. Human Rights Commissioner participated in the discussions with the Non-Governmental Organizations and with Human Rights Organizations and as per their request to prepone the submission of report he has agreed to submit the report in the month of August. |
