Dr.Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri attacked

Former chairman of the Federation of University Teachers Association (FUTA) Dr.Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri was this evening.

Political party which representate the United People Freedom Alliance , People United Front lead by Dinesh Gunawardene, National Freedom Front lead by Wimal Weerawansa, Left Front lead by Vasudeva Nanayakkara jointly organised May Day meeting at the Lalith Athulathmudali grounds , Kirulapane, Colombo today. This May Day meeting organised in order to extend their support towards former president Mahinda Rajapaksa. Dr.Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri was also attacked close to this ground and rushed to the Colombo national hospital. Dr.Nirmal Ranjith Devasiri palyed most important role on establishing government of good governance headed by the president Maithripala Sirisena. He also strongly opposed the dictatorship ruling of Mahinda Rajapaksa.
