He stated this while he was commenting to the Sri Lanka based TV channel. His house has been being occupied by the EPDP for nine years, he further added.
Despite he requested the former Minister Douglas Devananda to hand over his home, Douglas turned his deaf ears. Also, this old man wrote a letter to the former President Mahinda Rajapakse in this regard.
This old man in his ages of 78 years, who stated that his home was seized at gunpoint nine years ago, highlights that he is unable to conduct her daughter’s wedding as he became homeless.
He lodged complaints at police more than hundred times and provided confessions more than ten times in this regard, he said. But police responded to him that actions cannot be taken due to the political influences, he added.
“When I approached Saravanabavan for help in this regard, he told me that this house can be recovered by suing at the court in case this house is titled in his name”, he made allegation on Saravanabavan.
Why do those, who released the houses from Military, hesitate to release the houses from the EPDP?, the old man raised question. He requested his home back to him if the good governance and democracy really prevail in this country.
