JHU is strongly against Mahinda Rajapaksa

According to the party sources, The JHU has decided not to join any political alliance that will field the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa as a Prime Ministerial Candidate at the upcoming General Election.

The JHU has also decided to take every possible political step of action, to prevent the attempts to bring the Mahinda Rajapaksa's back to the forefront in power. The General secretary of the JHU Patali Champika Ranawaka is especially adamant in this regard. The JHU party is in Talks to form an extensive alliance against Mahinda Rajapaksa, if he is fielded as the prime ministerial candidate of the UPFA or the SLFP. As we are all aware that the JHU played a vital and key role to defeat the Mahinda Rajapaksa government in the previous Presidential Election, which was held on the 8th of January-2015.
