Mirisuwil murder suspect sentenced to death

Colombo high court issued death sentence against army officer over killing 8 Tamil nationals while at Mirisuwil area on December 2000.

(2nd Lead) Testament of the suspect , When I entered in to the house I have informed my family members that I have cut down posters at the EPDP office. Red Cross representative visited my house located at Karawetti West between 09.00 am -10.00 am. Red Cross representative questioned about the incident. During the time of this incidents military personals arrived in two motorbikes to my house. Family members and neighbours were tensed over military presence. I have informed EPDP office at Nelliyadi regarding the arrival of military personals. EPDP members also visited my house. ICRC member requested us to maintain silence and went out and questioned military personals about purpose of their visit. ICRC representative returned to my home and stated Merisuwil commander has arrived to question about the incident.
