It is revealed that secret police has received some of the most important information related to the assassination of Journalist Lasantha Wickramatunga.
Secret police has received this information from the one who was detained at the Welikada prison.
Based on the information received from this particular person, intensive investigation in this regard is being carried out by the police.
Lasantha was assassinated on 8th of January, 2009. The one who revealed the most important information with regard to the assassination of Lasantha was detained at Welikada prison.
No progress was achieved though the police from both Maount Lavaniya and Mirigana area had been conducting the investigations.
Meanwhile, last 25th of February onwards, secret police took the responsibility of the investigations of the assassination of Lasantha.
It is expected that major twists may occur in the investigations of the assassination of Lasantha following to the information revealed by the one being detained at Welikada prison.
