When the presidents Maithripala Srisena had a sudden visit to Jaffna on 28th of last month, the relatives of disappeared persons from north and east have staged a protest at the premises of Nallur temple.
In this protest, a lady came forward to organize and raised her voice. No one has seen her so far in the protests staged by the relatives of those who were disappeared. However, that lady has led the protest.
Then, she led the protestors to Ankajan Ramanathan’shome and arranged a meeting with the president.
When the relatives of those who were disappeared were telling the president about their sorrows, this particular lady broke in frequently and kept on saying that Ankajan anna would be the only one who can solve your issues. Like that, this particular lady was praising Ankajan in front of the president.
While a mother from Trincomalee was complaining to the president about the abduction of her son by the Trincomalee navy, this particular lady broke in and said that Ankajan anna would do the needful action to that issue. When she was talking like that the president non-verbally told the lady not to break in while the mother was talking.
Commission under the leadership of him would be formed after the election to carry out investigations regarding the disappeared persons, the president told the relatives of disappeared persons.
“You will be contacted through GA and governor. If you know any suspicious places where disappeared persons are believed to be detained, you just make the details available to us”, the president asked the relatives of disappeared persons.
At that while also, this particular lady suggested the president to carry out these activities through her Ankajan anna. President looked at her a glance and left from there.
By introducing herself as the chairwoman of the missing person’s union, she has advertised in a local newspaper with the highlight of urgent call for the relatives of the disappeared persons that details of the disappeared persons would be recorded on Tuesday at a guest house located in Jaffna.
The relatives of disappeared persons had contradictions with this lady and they filed a complaint about her at Jaffna police station.
This particular lady, who claimed herself as the one close to Ankajan, intimidated the relatives of disappeared persons by stating that they would face serious consequences if they contradict with her.
Meanwhile, Ankajan Ramanathan, who straightaway went to Jaffna police station, meet with the relatives of disappeared persons and stated that he has no connections with that particular lady.
