The questioning is being done on the orders of the Army commander Major General Krishantha de Silva, reports add. The children’s home became the centre of controversy after weekend publication 'Sath Handa' claimed that several children in the care of Sri Lanka Ranaviru Seva Authority-run ‘Senehasa’ children’s home have been sexually abused by Army personnel. Spokesperson of the Sri Lanka Ranaviru Seva Authority said that the institute has no involvement in the administration of ‘Senehasa’ children’s home. He further stated that there is certain level of truth to the exposé made by 'Sathhada' newspaper and that number of complaints have been received with regard to the particular matter. |
