Thanikallu village in Vavuniya is continuously appropriated by the majoritarian ethnic people

Some parts of the Thanikallu, one of the traditional Tamil villages, are continuously appropriated by the majoritarian ethnic people from South, the people from this traditional Tamil village expressed concern.
Many parts of this traditional Tamil village that were already been appropriated and Sinhala named “Kalyanapura”. Meanwhile, people belonging to this traditional Tamil village made accusation that attempts to appropriate the remaining lands of their village is being made.
People from there are subjected to many difficulties as many border villages of Vavuniya district were already appropriated and Sinhala named. Now the attempts are being made to appropriate the remaining parts of this Tamil village.
When the District Secretariat of Nedunkerni area was asked about the illegal land grabbing activities being taken place, he refused to respond, according to a local newspaper.  
Government officials of this area indirectly support the land appropriation activities being taken place with the intention of maintaining their positions, people belonging to this area expressed their anxiety.
Meanwhile, the affected people demanded the Tamil politicians to interfere on this illegal land grabbing to halt this.
