52,270 persons from 14,334 families have been affected due to the heavy raining in Jaffna till yesterday noon, Jaffna GA stated.
Following are further stated by him;
52,270 persons from 14,334 families belonging to the 15 District Secretariats in Jaffna District have been affected by the floods. 7,486 persons from 2,057 families have displaced to 42 welfare centers. Cooked meals are being provided to them.
54 houses belonging to the 15 District Secretaries have been completely damaged due to the heavy raining. 1,195 houses have been partially damaged.
1183 persons from 320 families belonging to the Point Pedro district secretariat have been affected. Among them, 657 persons from 168 families are housed in 4 welfare centers. 3 houses have been completely damaged whereas 5 houses have been partially damaged.
4337 persons from 1196 families belonging to the Sandilippai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 449 persons from 115 families are housed in 4 welfare centers. 2 houses have been completely damaged whereas 25 houses have been partially damaged.
8254 persons from 2252 families belonging to the Chavakacheri District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 1203 persons from 375 families are housed in 6 welfare centers. 11 houses have been completely damaged whereas 977 houses have been partially damaged.
1169 persons from 333 families belonging to the Karaveddi District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, no one has been displaced. 10 houses have been completely damaged whereas 100 houses have been partially damaged.
3275 persons from 891 families belonging to the Nallur District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 313 persons from 87 families are housed in 3 welfare centers. No houses have been damaged.
2714 persons from 703 families belonging to the Kopai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 204 persons from 57 families are housed in 3 welfare centers. 5 houses have been completely damaged whereas 9 houses have been partially damaged.
8226 persons from 2141 families belonging to the Jaffna District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 381 persons from 97 families are housed in 3 welfare centers. Only one house has been partially damaged.
2660 persons from 689 families belonging to the Velanai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 738 persons from 174 families are housed in 3 welfare centers. No houses have been damaged there.
2425 persons from 667 families belonging to the Thellipalai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 1526 persons from 426 families are housed in 6 welfare centers. No houses have been damaged there.
7705 persons from 2275 families belonging to the Uduvil District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 1998 persons from 551 families are housed in 14 welfare centers. 49 houses have been completely damaged whereas 9 houses have been partially damaged.
830 persons from 231 families belonging to the Kytes District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, no one has been displaced. Only one house has been completely damaged there.
1400 persons from 419 families belonging to the Karainagar District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, 17 persons from 07 families are housed in 1 welfare centers. 7 houses have been completely damaged whereas 28 houses have been partially damaged.
3371 persons from 790 families belonging to the Sankanai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, no one has been displaced. Only one house has been completely damaged and only one house has been partially damaged there.
2414 persons from 708 families belonging to the Maruthankerny District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, no one has been displaced. No houses have been completely damaged there.
2307 persons from 719 families belonging to the Sankanai District Secretariat have been affected. Among them, no one has been displaced. Among them, no one has been displaced. No houses have been completely damaged there.
More than 12,000 persons have been affected due to the natural disaster.
All districts in north have been worse affected by the floods. Meanwhile, 81,000 persons have been affected all over the Sri Lankan island including eastern province. 714 families from north have displaced and are housed in temporarily welfare centers.
