LTTE was not intend to remove Muslims from North : Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam

Tamil National People’s Front leader Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam announced that LTTE was not interested to completely chase away Muslim’s from the Northern parts of the island.

Addressing media briefing at the Jaffna Press Club leader went on to say, While announcing at the expulsion of the Muslims from the Northern Province as ethnic cleansing some people are attempting to create differences between Tamil- Muslim communities. However LTTE was not intended to completely remove Muslim people from the Northern Province. End of the 2002 Peace Talks they hold talks with Muslim leaders. LTTE leaders always announced North and Eastern Provinces are motherland of Tamil and Muslim people and also they urge public amnesty over expulsion of Muslim community and invited Muslims to resettle in the Northern Province.
