FCID visits Rajapaksa Museum

Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) officials had visited the D. A. Rajapaksa Museum in Weeraketiya on Dec. 10 to investigate the misuse of state funds amounting to Rs.90 million for setting up the museum.
It is said that the museum was constructed misusing millions of the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation & Development Corporation (SLLR&DC), which fell under the defence ministry during the Rajapaksa era.
The Audit General too, had released a report on this regard.
The funds were spent under the approval of the then Defence secretary - Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. However, after receiving several complaints on this regard, the DA Rajapaksa foundation declared in the recent past that the funds would be returned.
