The person who does not know anything about sea and who does not realize the feelings of fishermen have been appointed as the chairman of Fisheries Association. Therefore, he should be replaced with an appropriate person. If not, the fishermen from Vadamaratchi East will protest against this, according to the fishermen from Vadamaratchi East.

From the beginning when P.Premkumar was appointed as the Chairman of the Federation of Cooperative Societies of Fishermen, the federation had been functioning well. During his period, our federation was awarded as the best Fisheries Association in Northern Province.

While he is performing well in such a way, he has been suddenly removed from the position without being any accusations proved against him. Kaneshwaran, Maruthankerny Divisional Assistant Government Agent, has been newly appointed for this post.

Fishermen from Vadamaratchi East express their strong opposition against the scheme of converting sea water as drinking water .Federation of Cooperative Societies of Fishermen expresses its strong opposition against this scheme as the sole voice of fishermen from Vadamaratchi East.

Premkumar was performing well as the chairman of the federation. That is why; political sections have removed him from this post in order to precede the scheme of converting sea water as drinking water. Therefore, we demand just solution for this, fishermen from there stated.
