Teary relatives demanded before the presidential commission that they want their relatives instead of the compensations.
Sittings of the presidential commission into disappearances under the leadership of Maxwel Paranagama are being held Friday morning onwards.
During this investigations, the investigators asked the relatives of those who were disappeared whether they want livelihood assistance, compensation or else death certificate.
Responding to that, the relatives of those who were disappeared stated that they want their relatives who were disappeared instead of these compensations and livelihood assistances.
“We want their whereabouts to be released. If they are being detained at secret camps, they should immediately be released. Truths regarding them should be revealed”, the relatives of those who were disappeared responded like this.
We believe that all of those who were disappeared are still alive. Therefore, do not issue death certificates”, they further added.
