The government has not taken any steps so far in order to stop the recently emerged racist activities of the movement “The lion’s blood”, affected communities expressed their anxiety. They further added that the government has not taken any steps so far to eradicate the prevailing unsafe environment to them.
“The lion’s blood” is the racist movement which was engraving its logo on the vehicles and T-shirts started engraving their logo at the doors in the places where Muslims are living in enormous numbers.
Those, who were on their way back after their prayers at Polvaththai mosque, were assaulted by those who were sounding the word “The lion’s blood” by means of sharp weapons. The three who received injuries in this incident were admitted at Colombo National Hospital.
Complaint about this attack by the six racist thugs over the innocent Muslims has been filed at the Vellampittiya police station. “The Lion’s blood” started from stickers have started assaulting the innocent Muslims.
But, very few from the government side has condemned about this incident. But, no action has been taken by the government to stop the racist activities of “The lion’s blood” so far. Though it is complained at the Police station, they responded that these incidents are with regard to the political affairs.
Ethnic minorities living in the capital are scared as “The Lion’s blood” may do activities inducing the ethnic riots. Therefore, the ethnic minorities requested the government of good governance to ban this racist movement.
