Huge protest against sexual violence in Vavuniya

A Large Protest Held In Vavuniya this morning, Condemning against the Sexual Violence. Around 1000 protesters gathered to the northern town of Vavuniya this morning to protest against the sexual violence on women and girls.

The immediate reason for the protest is the recent rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl of Ukkulankulam, in Vavuniya. The protesters handed over a petition to the Government Agent in Vavuniya. The Petition has been addressed to the President Maithripala Sirisena.
