People had been demanding the removal of military camp located at Illuppaikadavai in Mannar. It is located in the lands belonging to the people. They demanded their resettlement after the removal of military camp located in their own lands.
Meanwhile, the occupying military is engaged in strengthening this particular military camp. They are placing a big name plate and strengthening this particular camp by constructing walls around it.
During the regime change, it was said that military would be reduced and people would be resettled after the removal of military camps. On the contrary to that, military camps are strengthened instead of being removed. Therefore, people are much irritated because of that.
Due to the military camps, normalcy is affected and the security of women and girl children are questioned in the backward areas. Therefore, the people of this area demand the government to create the civil environment by removing the military from there.
