The hunger strike carried out by the Tamil Political detainees at the New Magazine Prison continues on the 13th day today (mar 6).
Prisons Media Spokesperson Thushara Upuldeniya said that the inmates were in good health and assured that the detainees were being examined by medical officers of the prison hospital regularly.
At this stage, the All Ceylon Hindu Congress has requested in the letter sent to President Maithripala Sirisena to take measures to release the detainees without delay.
The Congress also requested the President to release the Hindu priest who has been undergoing 300 years of life imprisonment by the 7th of March “Sivarathri Day”.
