Northern Provincial Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran stated that it was very important to identify the needs of the war victims who were affected by the ethnic war and fulfill them in priority basis. He stated this at the opening ceremony of the newly built block which was funded by the government of Japan at Udayarkaddu Tamil Mixed School in the district of Mullaitivu on Wednesday (Mar 3). The Japan Government funded Rs. 24 million for the building. The Chief Minister noted that the District of Mullaitivu has been identified as the most affected district during the civil war. It is obvious that the children of this district were affected mentally and physically, he said. He also added that some projects are carried out in the North without the knowledge of the Northern Provincial Council, adding, it was not a good move. The development process in the North should be carried out with the cooperation of the Provincial Council, he said.
