It was expected that the CID would submit the reports with regard to the case since the Magistrate had already instructed the CID to produce all the relevant documents and reports the following hearing on March 4. But no reports were submitted by the CID today.
Inspector Nishantha Silva read the report of the case conducted by the CID to-date in the court. In it, it was stated that the 6th accused, Thushanth, had loved Vidhya one-sided but it was not accepted by the victim. Thushanth took revenge with the 5th accused, Santhirakasan, he planned to kidnap her. The plan was organized by the 9th accused known as Swiss Kumar.
The 2nd and 3rd accused that were already envious to Vithyas mother were joined for support by the mastermind, who kidnapped Vithya on her way to school.
Vidhya was raped and murdered by Thushan and Santhirakasan. Those actions were noted by the 11th accused who was arrested on 3rd of March, who carried Ganga (Drug) from Jaffna to Punguduthivu three days prior to the incident.
They murdered Vidhya brutally and tied her hands in the bush area to divert the case towards the Navy personnel.
Observing the report, the Magistrate stated that it was an intolerable incident; therefore, justice would be given with the grace of God.
