Rise of criminal offence: Intention of military existence in the North?

JAFFNAFP927-720x480Northern Provincial Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran has written an urgent letter to the newly appointed Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara to take immediate action to find out those behind the recently risen crimes and to control them in the province. Number of burglaries and thefts has been registered in the near past and a bus which was carrying Singhalese people to the North on a tour was attacked recently. The CM requests the IGP to investigate into the activities and purpose of it. While the government has been taking measures to reconcile and unite the peoples of the country, some who want to deteriorate the harmony of the country expected to be behind the burglaries and other offences, that is also is considered to be the reason to extend the existence of the military in the province on the other hand. The CM also stated that the authorities have the responsibility to safeguard the public after the ethnic conflict, adding, the cooperation and collaboration of the IGP is expected by the province. Tamil leaders and the people of the North have been continuously requesting the government to loosen the military presence in the North. A big question has emerged among the people on the recent crimes and other illegal activities.
