Kachchativu temple: Sinhalisation the base – MP Sritharan

Tamil National Alliance parliamentarian S.Sritharan alleged that the procedures made by Navy to construct a new church on the island of Kachchativu, is the attempts for the Sinhalisation. He said that Kachchativu is act as a bridge for bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and India. That’s why, if a temple is to be built, the people of the two countries should join hands and make decisions. This is the appropriate way to strengthen the solidarity. And he condemned the Navy on trying to construct a church alone. He stated that, constructing the temple in Kachchativu which is considered as the importance place of the India’s security will make threat to India’s security. Establishing the Buddha shrines and using the Anuradhapura and Polanaruwa terms bricks in the North are the attempts to alter the country as Sinhala Buddhist state. The attempts to constructing the church in Kachchativu too based on the Sinhalisation, he added.
