Some malicious parties are trying to complicate it. Even our people, without a clear understanding, are working selfishly to gain political advantage,” said the Leader of Opposition and major Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) R. Sampanthan. The Opposition Leader made this request while participating in a ceremony to open a community centre in the Thennamarawadi area of Trincomalee District on Saturday (May 7). Mr. Sampanthan said large-scale development plans in some areas of the North and East including Trincomalee can provide employment for the youth in the areas. He said the Tamil Diaspora also can invest in these development activities, open factories and contribute to employment opportunities for the youth. He requested the people to be prudent, patient, matured and cautious to identify the misleaders. Mr. Sampanthan also said political solution is a must in order to encourage the foreign countries to invest in Sri Lanka so that the country could be able to solve the debt and go towards development. He further added that the political solution was needed not only for the Tamils but all the peoples of the country.
