With the theme of “creating the Violence Free Killinochchi for children”, a workshop organized by the Killinochchi Police was held yesterday at 10 o’clock at Nelumpiyasa hall in Iranaimadu.
While the violence against children and women are getting increased in the recent times, the Killinochchi ASP Roshan Rajapakse organized a workshop with the intention of making awareness with regard to these at all levels.
The former Killinochchi Magistrate T.Joseph Pirabaharan, the present Magistrate Aanantharajah and the Northern Province Senior Deputy General of Police Fernando have delivered speeches regarding the security and welfare of children.
Kumara Ratna, the Additional Solicitor General of the Attorney General's Department, and the Police Inspector Manoj have also delivered their speeches.
Heads of the Departments, teachers, principals, village officers, development offices, police and Child Welfare Offices participated in this workshop.
