Sri Lanka government has reiterated that 40,000 civilians were not killed and claimed the allegation was baseless. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday (July 12) at Government Information Department, Minster Mahinda Samarasinghe said the military did not target the civilians in the battle of final war which targeted the LTTE, adding, the government would take action against anyone who is found guilty of committing crimes personally. He said the government would not allow anybody to interfere into the reconciliation process which the government aims to ensure of non-emergence of terrorism in the country. He added the decision was made by the President and Prime Minister not to allow any foreign judges in the internal mechanism was the final decision and the statements of others would not be taken into consideration.
