In Mullaitivu district which was hardest hit by the tsunami and war, 1914 female headed households are living at the area belonging to Karaithuraipatru District Secretariat alone, according to the statistical information revealed by the Karaithuraipatru District Secretariat.
42,055 persons belonging to 213 families were resettled so far. 1914 families among them are female headed households. 83 children who lost their parents are also living at the area belonging to Karaithuraipatru District Secretariat.
Meanwhile, 572 who were made differently abled due to the war and 55 old people are living at the area belonging to Karaithuraipatru District Secretariat. 2078 persons among them are provided the monthly payment assistances, the sources from there stated.
In addition, 211 differently abled are provided the assistances while remaining 363 differently abled need to be provided the assistances, sources further revealed.
