The resolution on Sri Lanka which is to be submitted in the upcoming week at the ongoing 34th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva is expected to be adopted without a referendum. The US backed resolution which grants Sri Lanka two more years to implement the 2015 UN resolution which was co-sponsored by the Sri Lankan government is to backed by the member countries. 12 nations have agreed to support so far and more countries are expected to be agreeable. The US government has called the member countries to agree to grant time to Sri Lanka to implement the resolution. Meanwhile, the Global Tamil Forum (GTF) has already expressed its willingness to grant time to Sri Lanka.
