The painful remembrance of Mullivaikkal Massacre which swallowed thousands of innocent Tamil people is being commemorated at Mullivaikkal under the patronage of Northern Province Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran with the co-association of R. Sampanthan, the Leader of the Opposition and Tamil National Alliance. Mr. Wigneswaran and Mr. Sampanthan lit the oil lamp and paid floral tribute to the monument representing the dead ones. Tamil parliamentarians, Provincial Council members, clergymen and the public take part in the historical event. This year commemoration is entirely different in comparison with the past as all three main religious leaders take part in the event and paid tribute the victimized people.
