Supreme Court today adjourned till tomorrow morning the hearing of the fundamental rights petitions filed against the dissolution of parliament. The petitions were taken up for hearing before a three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Nalin Perera, Justices Prasanna Jayawardane and Priyantha Jayawardane.

Ten Fundamental Right petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the dissolution of Parliament. UNP Chairman Kabir Hasim, former UNP MP Ajith P. Perera, JVP leader Anura kumara Dissanayake, TNA leader R. Sampanthan and Attorney Lal Wijenayake among those filed the petitions.
