The police say they will arrest Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigamage at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on his return to Sri Lanka. |
Muthuhettigamage had fled to Singapore after a warrant was issued for his arrest over the Wanduraba incident where a stage erected for an opposition rally was attacked. Police media spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that Muthuhettigamage will be arrested on his return as the warrant is still valid. The Department of Immigration and Emigration said that it had not received a notice from the police that there was a warrant for his arrest and so he was allowed to leave the country. |
