Chief Justice Will Not Resign: Attorney Wijeratne

Attorney Wijeratne, who is the Spokesperson of the Chief Justice, has said that the news about the resignation of Chief Justice Mohan Peiris is false.

He has not decided to resign from his post. According to the previous media news published, yesterday the Cabinet Spokesperson Rajitha Senaratne has made a statement by saying that Chief Justice Mohan Peiris has expressed his desire to resign from his post. He has also confirmed that the Chief Justice Mohan Peiris has expressed his desire to resign from his post to the Prime Minister also. Certain newspapers were also published their news items by saying that the Chief Justice has expressed his desire to resign from his post. But all these information are false information and there is no truth in it. But the Attorney Wijeratne, who is the Spokesperson of the Chief Justice Mohan Peiris, has confirmed that so far the Chief Justice Mohan Peiris has not at all decided to resign from his post. He has not submitted any resignation letter to anybody. He has neither informed through his letter nor through any announcement about his desire to resign from his Chief Justice post.
