19th Amendment gazetted

The Gazette notification on the on the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which was approved by the Cabinet at an emergency Cabinet meeting on Sunday, has been published.

According to the Government printer, the Gazette was printed late last night. The Cabinet of Minister had on Sunday decided to grant the leadership of the Cabinet to the President. The notification will be now open for public recommendations and will next be produced to Parliament for approval before it becomes law. Gazette notification notes that the President will be the Executive Leader, Head of State, Head of the Cabinet and Commander in Chief. It also briefs on appointing independent commissions.
