Investigation with Basil Rajapaksa

Investigations with the former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa is going to be commenced.

According to a Government Spokesman, within 24 hours after the commencement of the Financial Criminal Investigation Department, three important complaints on three major Corruption and financial scandals have been registered. In this regard, the Investigations will be conducted on the previous government’s financial scandals and corruptions. Based upon the complaints received, an investigation is going to be conducted upon the former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa. The government spokesman also mentioned that even though Basil Rajapaksa is presently staying abroad in a foreign country, it is not a big issue to summon him from there and to conduct investigation upon him in Sri Lanka. Because Basil Rajapaksa has been accused of engaging in massive financial scams and fraudulent through money laundering.
