Cabinet decide to hold election under old system

Cabinet decided to hold upcoming election according to present electoral system.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe recommends holding election under the old system where the government has passed 20th constitutional amendment in this country. Cabinet hold special discussion on implementation of 20th constitutional amendment and new electoral system. SriLanka Freedom Party strongly opposes the present preferential voting system.
