The General Secretary and Colombo District Leader, former MP Mr.Susil Premajayantha was to hand over the list of nominations for the General Elections yesterday, when he had suddenly succumbed to a bout of illness last night and had been admitted to Nawaloka Hospital, Colombo.
Hospital sources say that he had faced this sudden ailment relating to his heart as a result of severe stress.
It was also understood that the closest reason for this condition was related to an issue over nominations for Gampaha.
It was also learned that Susil Premajayantha had got involved in an argument last night with the leader of that Gampaha group, former Minister Mr.Felix Perera pertaining to a problem running into an exchange of words which has gone too far.
During this serious conflict of opinions, sources close to Susil reveal the information that this health condition has arisen as a consequence and he had subsequently been hospitalized.
Whatever it is, the health condition of Mr.Susil Premajayantha has come back to normal by yesterday and it was reported that he would attend to the duty of handing over the nomination papers yesterday.
Since, the aspect of nominations has been taken over by the Mahinda’s faction, former Member of the Parliament Sudarshani Fernandopulle had to wait on the ground floor of the residence of the former minister Felix Perera to participate with regard to the discussion of their nominations.
Finally, they had to forego their nominations yesterday and thus had to leave without nominations the third day too; Immediately, after seeing the health condition of Susil Premajayantha and after monitoring the Nomination Papers, Mahinda Rajapaksa went back assured of his nomination.
But, however, yesterday, Susil Premajayantha got discharged from the hospital after his medical treatment and participated at the Submission of Nomination Papers.
