Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has banned spectators from carrying hooters, liquor, glass bottles, sharp objects and lighters/match boxes into the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, which is hosting the 4th ODI match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka tomorrow (22). |
Sri Lanka Cricket announced that security measures will be tightened for tomorrow’s match, after a riot had forced umpires to suspend play during the 3rd ODI at the Premadasa Stadium on Sunday. “Spectators are advised to refrain from carrying Hooters, Liquor, Glass Bottles, Sharp Objects and Lighters/Match Boxes into the stadium.” “Any unruly behavior by any spectator will be severely dealt with and may even be subject to eviction from the grounds,” SLC said in a statement. Fights had broken out in the terraced section of the south-eastern stand during Sri Lanka’s innings on Sunday while the match was halted for half an hour after a rock was thrown onto the field. Pakistan went on to complete a 135-run win, and take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. |
