Mobile phones are forcibly provided to the widows in Vanni

Mobile phones are forcibly provided free of charge to the young widows in Vanni, Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V.Wigneshwaran stated.
Participating as the Chief Guest in an event organized by the Jaffna Community Action Center with regard to the eradication of violence against women held on Tuesday morning at Navalar hall, Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V.Wigneshwaran stated like that.
Following are further stated by him;
International Days for the Elimination of Violence against Women are declared for 16 days from 25th of November to 25th of December. Various programs and awareness programs are conducted during these days.  Here I would like to submit a crucial opinion before you. Maliciousness is in our hearts. Maliciousness in our heart is staged indirectly and publicly. We need to realize this. Wrong thoughts and disgust are sowed in our hearts from our young ages. Prejudices are sowed in our minds religiously, sexually and ethnically.  Then those things get appeared as violence when opportunity is emerged. Violence against women is also firstly come out from our minds.  Words thoughtlessly stated by the elder people knowingly or unknowingly are deposited in our minds. Violence against women is harvested due to the various opinions sowed such as women should be suppressed and they should only be used in bedroom. Though the recent history did not make any evolutions in violence against women, it causes vulgar thinking.
While vulgar thoughts and violence around us, it is difficult to stop us from being caught in this. Hard forbid was used to stop emerging violence against women at that time. When was the Mallakam magistrate in 1980s, what was told by the son of my friend comes to my mind. One of a militant youth went to his school to meet his friends. When they were talking, some girl students went after crossing them. These students teased these girl students with sexually vulgar words. After few days, that militant youth came there with wounds. When he was asked about the reason for the wounds on his body, he said that this punishment had been given for teasing the girls.
Vulgar words and violence were strongly condemned at that time. Owing to that, women could fearlessly go anywhere at any time in this region for more than three decades.
Severe punishments were given to stop emerging the male domination and women slavery in domestic lives. Our youths controlled the violence by making those who evil doers afraid of committing violence. I am not coming to say whether it was right or wrong.
I am coming to say that we can create an environment where no vulgar thoughts, disgusts and prejudices exist.
But, we have to now think that someone is intentionally creating an environment where violence against women happens mentally and physically.
Even within a couple of years after the long-running civil war came to an end, situations have been changed very harshly.  Many examples can be taken with regard to this before you.
Various murders including the Pungudutivu Vithya’s murder and Uduvil   old woman's murder have been brutally committed without the age difference.  We could get to know through the newspapers and other Medias that even four-year-old little kid had been killed by predators.
Women being harassed by their husbands, sexual tortures and rapes are now happened widely. Increasing violence against women made us sad though here dowry system is not a major issue like what is widely happened in India.
While we attempt to scrutinize these issues, we have to ask whether these evil acts are intentionally well planned and staged in our society with the aim of annihilating our society.
100 kg of Ganja is confiscated at Mathakal, one arrested with narcotics at Mannar and Ganja sonfiscated at Kakaitivu are the news used to fill the daily news papers nowadays.
Are the people in Mathakal growing Ganja? When has Mannar become the head quarters for the selling of narcotics? How the narcotics are brought to here? 150,000 military soldiers are on duty day and night around Northern Province.
Moreover, the police save the people. Are these narcotics brought to here from India, Pakistan and other countries after sprinkling dust to all of these security forces? Or else, these narcotics are brought to here with their support?
According to the news yet to be confirmed, narcotics trafficking are taking place with the support of those who are engaged in security duties.   Mot merely that, much attention is paid to distribute these narcotics among the students. Making few students getting addicted with narcotics firstly and then they stipulated to spread these among other students.
If we examine the reasons behind these evil activities, those who do not like to acknowledge the Tamils being decent and educated all over the world are stipulating narcotic usages in our society.
Somebody is thinking of preventing the feelings of freedom in our society through the annihilation of our younger generation. Actions are being taken to make our women as the consumable products and stipulating our youngsters to look lust with the intention of destroying our education and culture.
Recently, I heard a news that mobile phones are forcibly provided free of charge to the young widows in Vanni. It is said to be that these mobile phones are provided to them for their security. Training is also given to them to operate mobile phones. After that they are invited to have chatting.  These innocent women cannot file complaints in this regard. Their complaints will not be accepted. This is the time to protect our younger generation and women.
That is why; I used to talk about the challenges faced by the student community and the responsibilities of parents and teachers. The issues in front of us are gigantic. If we don’t put an end to these issues, then the situation where our younger generation and women cannot live securely will come.
Therefore, Parents! Ladies! School students! Children!
You all should be vigilant on this. It is mandatory for us to be careful on the activities of our children. Protect them if you find any differences in their attitudes.
Children!
You largely avoid in making relationships with the strangers. Many will come to you with sweet talks. They will give you something new to eat. You have to be careful on it. Your duty is to study well. These all illusion will be disappeared if you keep your concentration on education. If decency appears in our hearts, then foolishness of making women enslaved will be smashed out. Therefore, first of all, we will wipe out the vulgar thoughts from our minds.
If we want to enrich our future, women should be in a secured and well respected place in our society. Rapes, sexual harassments and misusing little girls are the violence against women. We have to get rid all of this evil brutalities in our society. For that, vulgar thoughts should be wiped out from our minds.
We have to think that all women are like our mothers. If we behave with women respectfully, then our lives will be bright, Northern Provincial Council Chief Minister C.V.Wigneshwaran stated.
