Relatives of those who were disappeared stated that they are not going to take break till their loved ones get released.
Relatives of those who were disappeared had a discussion on Tuesday morning at Jaffna Veerasingam Hall. While commenting regarding this to Medias, they stated like this.
Following are further stated by them;
We are never going to give up our efforts in search our relatives who were disappeared. We have testified before several commissions into disappearances. But nothing happened. We are disappointed with these commissions as they did not take any steps. That is why; we demand the international inquiry. We will give our fullest support if international inquiry is conducted as what we demand.
We are called as the relatives of those who were disappeared. This label is fixed on us. We don’t want to be called as the relatives of those who were disappeared. If our relatives are given back to us, this label will be vanished.
We have been wandering in search of our relatives who were disappeared. As the beggar begs behind everyone, we are wandering behind these commissions to beg for the return of our relatives who were disappeared.
Like the beggar is told that there are no coins, these commissions told us our children are not with them. These governments ignore our protests demanding the release of our relatives who were disappeared.
Those who are in the Presidential Commission into disappearances are Sinhalese. They do not understand our sorrows. While we tell about our sufferings due to the disappearances of our relatives, they just listen to what we say as just a story. Also they sleep while we tell about these things.
Then they get up suddenly and asked us whether we need death certificate or livelihood assistances. We did not lose substances to get compensation instead of their return. We want our relatives who were handed over to you.
More than 10 sessions have been conducted by the presidential commission into disappearances. But nothing happened so far. That is why; we demand international inquiry.
That is why we are going to boycott and peacefully protest against the presidential commission. There is no use of believing these commissions. Every Tamil should assist and accompany us for the return of our relatives.
