Mukamalai is subjected to the risk of most dangerous explosives in the world, “Hello Trust” the humanitarian organization that is engaged in demining, stated.
This particular organization that has been being involved in demining for 13 years demined more than 200,000 land mines at Mukamalai so far.
According to “Hello Trust”, it is being discussed whether Iraq or Mukamalai is subjected to more risk of dangerous explosives. But land mines and other claymore mines are found in more numbers at Mukamalai compared to Iraq.
This organization, that pointed out that there are no other places in the world where this much of explosives were found, stated that 200,000 anti-human land mines, 41,601 explosive materials, 22778 unexploded explosives, 875 vehicles mines and 71724 Small Pieces of explosives were recovered so far from Jaffna, Killinochchi, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee and Mannar.
