TNA, Vigneswaran reach understanding

The talks between the TNA and north chief minister C.V. Vigneswaran in Colombo ended successfully, both parties say.
Their talks came after political predictions that the TNA could split owing to to the formation of a Tamil People’s Council by the CM.
The outstanding issues between the two parties have been resolved and mutual understanding reached, TNA leader R. Sampanthan has told BBC Sandeshaya.
The future and the security of the Tamil people as well as securing proper solutions for their problems came under discussion, he said.
Vigneswaran said their misunderstandings had been resolved.
He has been told by Sampanthan that the TPC would not be an issue if its objectives are good.
The TNA leader accepted that the TPC would not be opposed to it.
Sampanthan went onto say that Vigneswaran belonged to his alliance, and no other party, adding that a majority in the TPC were defeated at the general election.
