
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that there were no political prisoners in Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister made this remark addressing media in Davos in Switzerland where the World Economic Forum is taking place. He said problems relating political prisoners have been solved through proper judicial mechanisms. The Prime Minister also said that there was a peaceful social and political situation in the country. Prime Minister Wickremesinghe, who leads the Sri Lankan delegation to Davos, also invited Chinese and other major investors to Sri Lanka. Commenting on the social and political situation in Sri Lanka, the Prime Minister said there were no political prisoners in the country.
