
The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has begun holding a meeting among the members of the TNA and the members of the Northern Provincial Council today (Jan 21) in Kilinochchi. According to TNA sources, many important matters including solution for the national crisis and comprising the matters of the Tamils in the new constitutional reforms would be taken up for discussion. The meeting also would be included with the discussion of TNA’s future measures. Meanwhile, a demonstration has been carried out near the meeting hall by the relatives and parents of the missing persons. Sources said that the demonstrators were detained by the police while they tried to advance towards the Co-operative Hall where the meeting is conducted. The demonstration is being carried out to condemn the TNA for its failure to give pressure to the government with regard to the missing persons.
