
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein is to clarify the state of human rights in Sri Lanka and its moves towards reconciliation, in the 31st regular session of the UN Human Rights Council that is to be held from 29 February to 24 March. In the agenda which had never allocated a time for Sri Lankan issues to be discussed, the High Commissioner has been scheduled to make a special note that also includes Sri Lankan issues, especially the state of human rights in the country. In this session, a team headed by the UN representative for Sri Lanka Ravinath Ariyasinghe will also take part.
