UNHRC High Commissioner Prince Zeid Al Hussein who is on a four-day visit to Sri Lanka has gone to Jaffna this morning (Feb.7)
The commissioner was accorded a garland welcome by the Northern Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran.
According to our regional reporter, the commissioner is currently engaged in talks with the Northern chief and Northern Province Ministers in the Chief Minister’s office.
After the talks, the Prince will visit the refugee camp of the internally displaced people and witness the conditions. He will then meet the Governor of the Northern Province.
His Jaffna visit will be followed by the visit to Trincomalee where he is said to meet the Governor and the Chief Minister of the Eastern Province.
