Many more Buddhist Monks are Expected to Surrender to the Police Today

Several Buddhist Monks are expected to be surrendered to the Police over Homagama Protest today. Many more Buddhists monks are expected to be surrendered to the police this morning, over the recent protest at Homagama Magistrate's Court.

The protest occurred on the 26th of January, when the Magistrate ordered the Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera to be remanded till the 9th of February, on several charges including the contempt of court and threatening the public officials. Four people were arrested yesterday over the protest and remanded till 9th of February. Sinhala Ravaya Chairman Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera is among those, who intended to surrender.
