Vetrivel Somani, mother of Murugan who is a convict in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, has fervently requested all to help her to collect signatures for the release of her son. “The Indian Government had granted amnesty to killers of Mahatma Ghandhi and Indra Ghandhi. Why can’t they grant amnesty to my son Murugan and other six in prison for such a long time. I will engage in collecting 10 Lakhs signatures in Sri Lanka for the release of my son”, she said. “My son Murugan is wearing saffron clothes and Nalini is spending her time with a water mug under a Khombha tree. My attempt is to free them and the 5 others, she said. She also said that, although several rallies were held in Tamil Nadu for their release, no such struggle was carried out here”, she charged.
