The international community has an important part to play in Sri Lanka’s reconciliation process, said the British High Commissioner whilst visiting the Buddhist Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy.
Speaking to press after receiving blessings from the Chief Buddhist prelate at the Temple, the British High Commissioner James Dauris said,
“The Sri Lankan government and Sri Lankan people can decide how they want to move the reconciliation forward. With our own experience the reconciliation process is complicated and the international community does have an important part to play.”
Mr Dauris added that the UK is pleased with Sri Lanka’s programs to implement reconciliation and is willing to assist, reports Colombo Page.
